Yes, You Can! is an art class designed for home-school and special needs children ages 5 – 18 years old.  

Classes are $12.00 per child and supplies are provided. Space is limited.

MOVEMENT:

Ballet/Modern Class

Time:  Ballet – Tuesdays, 6 – 6:55pm

BDC’s aim is to take dancers to their next level of understanding, ability and expression; cultivating flexibility and articulation of body and mind for their efficient use. 

Classes are FREE and open for ages 11 and up. Dance attire required. 

Ballet:  Ladies – leotard and tights with socks or ballet shoes; Gentlemen: T-shirt and tights or shorts with socks or ballet shoes.

Modern:  Ladies – leotard and black tights or leggings/dance pants; Gentlemen – t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants

Capoeira

Host:  Dallas Malandros

Time:  Tuesdays, 7 – 8:30 pm | Saturdays, 10 am – 12 pm

Cost:  $15 per class or $80 per month

More than just a means of self-defense, capoeira is a method of cultural connection. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. Classes are open to the public.

West African Drumming & Dance

Host:  Bandan Koro African Drum & Dance Ensemble

Time: Oct. 26 – Dec. 7 | Saturdays only, 11 am – 1:00 pm

Cost:  FREE

Registration:  No RSVP required

Bandan Koro’s African Drum and Dance class is open to all ages and levels.  Wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict movement and allows a full range of motion such as sweatpants, workout/yoga attire. Please no shorts and/or tight shorts, one pieces/onesies, revealing tops or bottoms.

Be prepared to dance barefoot as is tradition in West African dance.

Guitar Workshop by Swan Strings

Swan Strings provides free music education and sound therapy services to North Texas students without access to such services due to economic or other hardships. 

Classes are open to students ages 8-17. Students will be accepted based on need and on a first come, first serve basis. Students may bring their own instrument but are not required to have one to participate in the workshop.
