Through art, we can enhance the lives of the youth in our communities. The arts provide a safe place for children to be creative regardless of race of socioeconomic background. Statistics and research have shown that the arts help with child development and cultural awareness.

Students will learn about the wonderful contributions of the African diaspora in art. They will explore photography, music, art, dance and spoken word. Each day they will be led by near peer instructors, community volunteers and industry professionals to engage in hands-on, multimedia activities that will help them develop observation and technical skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, and various other art mediums. Students will also learn about painting, dance, poetry, photography, music production and other various forms of art! 3 meals per day, transportation for field trips, technology devices, art supplies and camp t-shirts will be provided! To register for this event, parents / guardians will need to complete this application by providing student information and parent contact information.
