About the program
Os Malandros de Mestre Touro is based in San Diego, CA and was founded by Mestre Preto Velho as a means to empower his community through the art of Capoeira. More than just a means of self-defense, it is a method of cultural connection. Our group has been holding classes in the Dallas metroplex since 1997 and is open to everyone interested in growing in the art of Capoeira.
We are not a performance troupe. However, we do occasionally hold short demonstrations at various public functions such as those related to culture, fitness or youth development. If you are interested in arranging a demonstration or a special class for your organization, please contact us at info@dallasmalandros.com or 214-444-3692.

Dive into a space where performance meets cultural celebration. Led by Tiana Kaye Blair, a Dallas native, artist, and performer, this movement workshop centers the cultural traditions of Black girls and women. We invite performers of all kinds and community members of all ages to a fun evening down memory lane and an inspiring artistic event.

Students will learn about the wonderful contributions of the African diaspora in art. They will explore photography, music, art, dance and spoken word. Each day they will be led by near peer instructors, community volunteers and industry professionals to engage in hands-on, multimedia activities that will help them develop observation and technical skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, and various other art mediums. Students will also learn about painting, dance, poetry, photography, music production and other various forms of art! 3 meals per day, transportation for field trips, technology devices, art supplies and camp t-shirts will be provided! To register for this event, parents / guardians will need to complete this application by providing student information and parent contact information.

Kristoddie Woods aka Black CeasarPoetry is a Mississippi Native by way of Dallas Tx. Most notably known for his Emmy Nominated performances with the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Kristoddie is a Poet, author, teacher, filmmaker, artist, non profit owner and Two-time Emmy nominee eager to better the world around him through artistry. Kristoddie graduated from Texas A&M University Commerce with a degree in education. Business: Poet, Author, Teacher and Actor.
