A Window In: Ellen Gallagher
###
Ellen Gallagher’s work is all about repetition and revision. The multimedia artist chips away at canvases layered with paint, paper, and/or ink. Known primarily for work that explores themes of race, Gallagher artistic style is also incredibly significant. In 2012, she sat down with Art21 to discuss the the development of her work for the solo exhibition, Don’t Axe Me.
South Dallas Cultural Center presents A Window In: A look at Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora. Each week, SDCC will feature a curated list of videos from ART 21: Art in the Twenty First Century that highlight artists of the African Diaspora. From topics of Power and Truth to Love and Loss, these artists explore and expand the bounds of what art is and could be.
