The WIZ: Broadway Workshop
Sing: Everybody look around because there is a reason to rejoice you see. Everybody come out! And let’s commence to singing joyfully. Let’s celebrate the songs of the brilliant Charlie Smalls and together, we will sing the finale number Brand New Day. Students will have the opportunity to present audition selections from the show and receive individual coaching.
Act: If you found yourself in front of the all-powerful Wiz what would you ask for? Would you ask for a heart? A home? How about the courage to do something? In this workshop we will explore the wants and needs of your character in scenes from the Wiz through personal creative expression and create monologues embodying the characters to present.
Dance: On this journey we will discover different ways of physicalizing your character within the wonderful world of Oz. Then we will move into choreography and apply that character to a dance combination from the iconic Ease On Down the Road.
